I came to Shae frustrated and ready to give up. For the past few years I have been steadily gaining fat and have watched my health gradually slide into the gutter. I came to her just hoping to lose some weight and keep a little muscle while I was at it. What I got was so much more. In just 8 weeks I've lost 18 pounds of fat, 4.5 inches off my waist, and 3 inches off my belly, all while gaining muscle and shape in my booty, hammies, and thighs. I've gone from squatting 95 pounds to squatting over 200 pounds, and have learned how to deadlift! (I honestly never touched deads before because I was too intimidated.) But the biggest changes I've had haven't even been the physical ones, but rather the ones in my head and heart.
All I cared about when I started this challenge was getting smaller. I wanted to shrink away from the world. I didn't want to feel people's stares when I saw them for the first time in a couple of years. I didn't want to hear my little sister's friend tell her "your sister looks softer," or hear the guys at the river snicker and refer to me as "the fat girl with the cute brunette." I hated being seen by the world. I hated my body in the mirror and every picture. But Shae has given me the confidence to stand taller. To prance around when taking my progress pictures and to dance between sets. I wear what I want, I don't think twice about sending my progress pictures to my fiance and my wedding dress looks better on a confident future bride.
I am nowhere near "perfect," but I am perfectly me and I cannot wait for phase 3 with Shae because I have some huge-amazing-keep-me-up-at-
